I’m a big Doctor Who fan so when I was offered the chance to go to the Doctor Who Experience I took it. Of course I did. It was an amazing experience, the first bit is an interactive tour of sorts where you SAVE THE DOCTOR and SAVE THE DAY. All I’m going to say about it is if you are a Doctor Who fan, go and experience it for yourself. You get to see the Twelfth Doctor insult people, and if you stand in the right place like I did you might get insulted yourself.

After the Experience bit, there’s an Exhibition full of costumes and props from the ages. As you can see above, they recreated the scene from ‘The Dalek Invasion of Earth’ where the TARDIS has just landed underneath the bridge with that famous poster. Not far from that however is the old classic TARDIS interior with the Third Doctor’s car, Bessie next door to it. Round the corner is the 2005-2010 interior with it’s gloomy lighting and lit up console, it is as beautiful as I remember it. However I am pretty certain it glowed green in the series and not blue, but that might be me being picky.

Upstairs are more costumes and aliens to marvel at. There was one Cyberman that was constantly trying to sneak up on me as I looked around. There was a Yeti from ‘The Web of Fear’, possibly one of my favourite Second Doctor Adventures, lurking upstairs. As I was having my photo taken with it that Cyberman came up behind me which did make me quite angry however the picture it resulted in was quite amazing and fairly creepy.
I did eventually get a picture of Yeti minus me as that Cyberman wouldn’t leave me alone. I think it was just annoyed it wasn’t getting as much attention as it thought it should.

I did get to come face to face with the Daleks, finally. As quite a small bear they were very imposing, I kept an eye on them though in case they decided to come back to life. I mean they could considering there was that Cyberman who was about as well.
I came across the Yellow Paradigm Dalek, it was huge compared to the others. I do agree that the colouring of these Daleks was not their strong point, however give it a metallic sheen and it could look amazing.

My favourite Dalek out of them all has to be the special weapons Dalek. I love it so much, mostly because it’s different to the others whilst still being inexplicably Dalek. It appeared in my favourite Dalek story, ‘Remembrance of The Daleks’. This Dalek is also unstoppable, blowing up two other Daleks with one shot. Coming face to face with this guy was the highlight of my day and my day had been pretty amazing by this point.

There was a model TARDIS there, used for ‘Day of The Doctor’ during that Time War scene where it crashes through a wall. All I could think when I saw it was that it the right size for me. I’m about 10cm away from it so you can guess how big it was.

And finally, The Doctor’s costumes. My favourite Doctor, if you pushed me to say one, would be the Second Doctor, Patrick Troughton. His Doctor was the blueprint for all the others after him, he was the original Mad Man with a Box. His stories, although long, are engaging all the way through and sure he had some rather rubbish ones, but his Doctor made them work so that you can watch them again and again. To see the what the costume would’ve looked like in colour was great and a great end to the day.

Of course I wasn’t going to leave without a picture of the costumes of my second favourite Doctors, the Tenth and the Eleventh. And so I had one last picture and then went straight to the gift shop!
